Meeting the Physical and Spiritual Needs of the Khmer People<\/h3>\n

[vc_video link=”https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/194998171″][\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Jesus ministered both physically and spiritually to people as he went from village to village, sharing the good news of the kingdom of God (Matthew\u00a04:23). Cambodia Christian Ministries (CCM) has adopted Jesus\u2019 two-fold mission of blessing people as its main mode of ministry. Everywhere we go we seek to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people. Love compels us to preach the gospel, but love also moves us to help meet the physical needs of the Khmer people in remote villages. Many of those needs in Cambodia are medical.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]It began in 2005, when Sokhom took the good news of Jesus Christ back to his people, and along with it, rice, mosquito nets, and medicine. He blessed a number of people in his home village area. Since 2009, our CCM medical teams have treated over 12,000 people every year \u2013 sometimes as many as 18,000 people are treated\u00a0in a calendar year. We serve the poorest of the poor in remote villages, providing medical and dental treatment along with eye exams and glasses (courtesy of the Lions Club and Global Samaritan Resources). Most of the medical professionals who travel with us to the villages are Cambodian, but over the years help has come from Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, USA, etc. These medical professionals love what we do to serve the poor; many of them come back year after year to help spread God\u2019s love to the Cambodian people.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]While patients are being treated and medicine and glasses are dispensed in the villages, Sokhom and other Christian teachers share the Bible with newer believers, Buddhists and even Muslims. The medical mission trips pave the way for Sokhom and CCM servant-leaders to continue sharing the gospel with more and more people. Over time, we are able to plant churches in the villages in which we provided medical and spiritual care. Some medical patients and bible seminar participants become students in our preaching school, Cambodia Bible School (CBS), and after graduating they return to their villages as preachers of the Good News of Jesus Christ.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]
