Cambodia Christian Ministries (CCM) is grateful to God for opening doors for us to make new friends in Vietnam. During this recent trip, there was a wonderful response from both Cambodians living in the region and Vietnamese nationals—many of whom were hearing the message of God’s love for the first time. Their hearts were open and receptive as they listened to the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. It was a powerful reminder that the Gospel transcends language, culture, and nationality, and that God is very active in southeast Asia drawing people to Himself.

Sokhom, Kevin Carson (Alberta, Canada), and three CCM doctors traveled many hours to visit Vietnam. While there, they shared Jesus and many responded in faith. Sokhom and Kevin baptized these new believers into Christ, using large garbage containers when no traditional baptistry was available. Their willingness to improvise reflected the urgency and joy of the moment as souls responded to the grace of God by faith as they were baptized into Christ.
One especially moving moment was teaching a woman who was unable to speak and had been told that her condition was the result of a curse. She wore voodoo bracelets in an effort to ward off other potential future evil spells. When she came to understand that her condition was not a curse and came to faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord, she chose to have the bracelets cut off. She was then buried with Christ in baptism and rose from the water to begin her new life in Him.
Some of these new converts will soon travel to Cambodia to study for two years at Cambodia Bible School (CBS), where they will be grounded in the Word of God. Through this, the light of the Gospel will continue to spread, and many more will come to know the Lord.
As CCM continues to grow, as well as increase the number of Jesus Children orphans and water well drilling in new areas, we welcome your prayers and financial support to help us keep moving forward. Contact Mike Meierhofer for further information how you can partner with us in this amazing mission work for the Lord.
